CAMBRIDGE DIDDY DOOR HUNT AND UNUSUAL ATTRACTIONS | 5 MILES

January 18 @ 9:45 am - 1:30 pm GMT

Fancy a trip to Cambridge to hunt for some 6″ doors? This unusual walk is very different to our usual trails….

FANCY A TRIP TO CAMBRIDGE TO FIND SOME DIDDY DOORS?

Adventure Geek is not your traditional walking club, we like to do things a little bit differently. It may be hunting for noses and ears in London, visiting a bone crypt or perhaps you fancy looking for weird and unusual things in Cambridge? Life is an adventure and we are here to help you have mini-adventures where you experience something a bit different.

PARKING: Parking at Queens Anne Terrace Car Park, Gonville Pl, Cambridge CB1 1ND.

Then make your way to the starting point at the Cambridge Rules Monument in Parkers Piece (What 3 Words: https://what3words.com/builds.easy.lend )

DETAILS

10 am – The hunt begins for eight tiny doors which are no bigger than 6 inches, along with numerous other exciting and unusual things to see in Cambridge.

Created by Dinky Doors, the plan is to fill the world with mood-lifting and surprising delights. Just out of plain sight, but there to be unexpectedly spotted, nonetheless. And when you do spot them, it’s enough to inject a bit of joy into your day. A moment of joy, that lifts your spirit and prepares you for the day’s next challenge.

In addition to the doors, we have other unusual attractions to visit. To give you a taste, you will be witnessing a bridge that has been constructed using gravity rather than nuts and bolts and a very weird clock!

WALK AS A GROUP, OR INDEPENDENTLY

Julia will post the map with the locations of the Diddy Doors (and other unusual things to see in Cambridge). You will then have a choice to either have your own adventure, OR you can join Julia for a guided walk. If you decide to walk with the AG team, then we will only guide you to the actual street. It will be your responsibility to hunt for the doors and the other quirky surprises yourself (which is the fun part).

DIFFICULTY LEVEL?

This walk is not physically challenging, it is more of a fun walk with lots of sightseeing. You will spend time in Central Cambridge and we will point out all sorts of interesting things for you to see etc. Your map will not only give you information on the doors, but we have lots of other “quirky” things for you to discover on this trail. All will be revealed!

How far will you be walking?

If you are following the guided map, then you can expect to walk around 4-5 miles during the course of the day.

MEETING PLACE: We suggest parking locally then make your way to the monument.

Note: we often meet in places where there is no postcode, so we encourage you to use the What3Words app which will take you to the exact location.
