It seems that the universe is challenging me. The last few months have been difficult and trying to find joy has been increasingly hard.
My constant – other than my amazing husband and our two sons, is LJ our beloved Springer Spaniel. LJ is my joy. When I wake up, I see her warm loving brown eyes. When I’m writing emotional pieces about loved ones, she’s there pestering me for a walk. (LJ prefers to poop out on a walk rather than in the garden!!) I cannot be angry or cross with her, she’s too cute.
When I’ve been treating dogs that remind me of the beautiful soul that was our Lucy who we lost earlier this year, I walk with LJ in the cold freezing winds and remember how they used to hunt in the fields together. My joy on four legs, with a crazy wagging tail and floppy ears, gets me up and outside.
During sad times our beloved dogs bring us much comfort, love and support its breathtaking, isn’t it? I for one do take it/her for granted – that’s human nature I suppose.
However, getting out in the fresh air, walking with dogs of our own, with friends and their dogs or with friends is so healthy for the mind, body and spirit. That is why The Adventure Geek Walking Club is special. It’s so much more than walking, it’s walking with friends -both human and canine out in Mother Nature’s finest.
What more is there to like? Joy!
Namaste
