You’re in Safe Hands
Every Adventure Geek walk is led by a trained volunteer who knows the route, welcomes newcomers and helps the group stay together. Our leaders bring different personalities, local knowledge and walking styles, but they all share the same aim: helping you enjoy the walk.
Julia is the founder of Adventure Geek and a qualified Mountain Leader and outdoor first aider. Based in Blisworth, she leads walks and adventures across the UK and abroad, bringing people together through friendship, fresh air and shared experiences. When she isn’t planning the next Adventure Geek outing, she can often be found exploring in Sid, her much-loved campervan.
Julia Doherty
Alison leads walks across the county and loves discovering new places. A keen photographer, she captures some wonderful moments while out with the group. Alison has joined Adventure Geek on many adventures, with the Camino remaining a firm favourite, and she also runs our friendly monthly book club.
Alison Greathead
Annette brings remarkable energy and determination to the walk leader team. A keen runner and ultra-distance hiker, she completed a Hadrian’s Wall challenge in an impressive 14 hours and 39 minutes. She loves taking on a new challenge or adventure but is equally happy relaxing with a good book.
Annette Burgess
Annette is one of Adventure Geek’s most trusted walk leaders, leading popular evening and Morning Miracle walks around Rugby, Braunston and Daventry. She has joined us on many adventures, from the Camino to Croatia, and brings experience, encouragement and a reassuring presence to every walk. Away from the trails, Annette also enjoys exploring on her motorbike.
Annette Cunningham
Claire brings a real sense of adventure to the team and knows the Daventry area well. Originally from Wales and a keen rugby supporter, she loves the great outdoors and enjoys taking on a challenge. Her enthusiasm and local knowledge make her a warm and encouraging presence on every walk.
Claire Jenkins
Emily loves a walking challenge and is known for her longer “Extra Mile” walks and shorter, faster-paced Rapid Rambles. Her enthusiasm and local knowledge help everyone know what to expect and enjoy walking at their chosen pace.
Emily Wright
Emma leads walks around Towcester and Milton Keynes and brings people together through the monthly quiz and many of Adventure Geek’s social events. A keen adventurer herself, she has joined us everywhere from the Albanian Alps to Slovakia’s famous ladder routes. Thoughtful and kind, Emma always looks out for others and brings warmth and encouragement to everything she does.
Emma Sapsford
Gillian leads walks around Milton Keynes and is particularly fond of our early-morning walks. Friendly and encouraging, she enjoys helping people start their day with fresh air and good company. Gillian is often joined by her working cocker spaniel, Darcy, who is always ready for another walk.
Gillian Lucas
Janet is a confident walk leader who has completed challenging hikes across the UK, including Helvellyn and other mountain routes. Flexible about where she leads, she will often be found around Brackley and Silverstone. Away from walking, Janet is wonderfully creative, loves making something out of nothing and is always ready for a good board game.
Janet Cox
Julie is no stranger to a challenge, having climbed Kilimanjaro and joined Adventure Geek on demanding adventures including the Albanian Alps and Slovakia’s famous ladder routes. Now retired, she is sharing her experience and enthusiasm by leading walks around Rugby. Julie’s philosophy is simple: you only have one life, so live it!
Julie Swart
Kelly is a keen walker who brings plenty of energy and enthusiasm to every outing. She qualified as a walk leader just six months after joining Adventure Geek—and you can’t miss her in her wonderfully bright Lucy Locket leggings!

Paul is one of Adventure Geek’s most highly qualified leaders. A qualified Mountain Leader and Ride Leader, he leads local walks, the Adventure Geek cycling club and selected AG Travel holidays. Paul brings a wealth of outdoor experience and is often joined by his border collie, Jess—usually with a stick close by!
Paul Coxon
Paula leads a variety of walks around Rugby and the surrounding area. Originally from Ireland, she is a wonderful storyteller with an amazing singing voice—so don’t be surprised if you hear her singing on the trail! Away from walking, Paula loves exploring in her campervan.
Paula Cannon
