Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made with Julia Doherty, trading as Adventure Geek, of 61 Glen Avenue, Blisworth, Northants, NN7 3ED (referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”).
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before making a booking. By making a booking with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
By making a booking, you confirm that:
(a) you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract; and
(b) you are at least 18 years old.
Adventure Geek is a community-based walking and social group offering guided events and experiences.

(Community, Walks & Events)
These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made with Julia Doherty, trading as Adventure Geek (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By making a booking with us, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before booking.
Adventure Geek is a community-based walking and social group offering guided events and experiences.
1. Booking & Contract
When you make a booking, you are making an offer to attend an event or experience.
Your booking is confirmed once you receive confirmation from us. At this point, a contract is formed.
If you are booking on behalf of others, you confirm you have permission to do so and accept these terms on their behalf.
You must be 18 or over to book.
2. Walking Club Membership
We offer both monthly and annual membership options.
- Membership benefits are outlined on our website
- Payment is taken upfront and, where applicable, on a recurring basis
- Membership can be cancelled at any time
Please note:
- No refunds are given for unused time
- You will retain access until the end of your billing period
- If payments fail, we reserve the right to suspend or cancel your membership
3. Walks & Events
All walks and events must be booked in advance.
You are responsible for:
- Arriving on time
- Wearing appropriate clothing and footwear
- Ensuring you are fit and able to մասնակցate
We reserve the right to refuse participation if:
- You are not suitably equipped
- Your behaviour is unsafe or disruptive
No refunds will be given if you are unable to take part due to:
- Late arrival
- Inappropriate equipment
- Personal circumstances
4. Weekend Adventures
Weekend adventures are guided experiences organised by Adventure Geek.
👉 Important:
Adventure Geek provides guided walking experiences only.
- Accommodation, transport, and meals are not included unless explicitly stated
- You are responsible for booking and managing your own travel and accommodation
- Any recommendations we provide are for guidance only
We are not responsible for:
- Third-party bookings
- Travel delays or cancellations
- Accommodation issues
Payments
- Payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed
- If a deposit is accepted, the remaining balance must be paid by the stated deadline
- Deposits are non-refundable
Participation
You must:
- Disclose any relevant health or mobility issues at the time of booking
- Follow guidance given by the walk leader
- Bring appropriate kit
We reserve the right to remove any participant without refund if behaviour is unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate.
5. Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel, the following applies:
Walks & Local Events
- No refunds within 48 hours of the event
- Transfers may be offered at our discretion
Weekend Adventures
- More than 70 days before → deposit retained
- 70–57 days → 30% retained
- 56–43 days → 50% retained
- 42–15 days → 80% retained
- 14 days or less → 100% retained
If you have not yet paid enough to cover the cancellation fee, the remaining balance will be due.
If We Cancel
If we cancel an event:
- You will receive a full refund
- Or be offered an alternative where possible
6. Merchandise
All merchandise is sold as described.
- Items are non-refundable unless faulty or not as described
- Payment is due at the time of purchase
7. Digital Products
For downloadable products (such as routes or guides):
- All purchases are non-refundable once accessed or downloaded
8. Pricing & Payments
Payments are processed via secure third-party providers (e.g. Stripe).
We are not responsible for errors made by these providers.
If payments are not made on time:
- We reserve the right to cancel your booking
- Outstanding balances may be pursued
9. Liability
We hold appropriate public liability insurance.
However:
- You take part in all activities at your own risk
- You are responsible for your own safety and wellbeing
We recommend you have:
- Personal insurance
- Appropriate footwear and equipment
We are not responsible for:
- Loss of personal belongings
- Indirect or unforeseen losses
Nothing in these terms limits liability for:
- Death or injury caused by negligence
- Fraud
10. Events Outside Our Control
We are not responsible for changes or cancellations caused by events outside our control, including:
- Weather
- Travel disruption
- Illness
- Government restrictions
We will always aim to offer alternatives where possible.
11. Photos & Media
We may take photos or videos during events for marketing purposes.
If you do not wish to appear, please let us know.
12. Data Protection
We handle your data in line with UK GDPR.

13. Behaviour
We are proud of our friendly, welcoming community.
We reserve the right to remove anyone from an event or membership without refund if behaviour is:
- Offensive
- Aggressive
- Unsafe
14. Complaints
If something isn’t right, please tell us.
We will always aim to resolve issues quickly and fairly.
15. Legal
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be handled through the courts of England and Wales.
