Mud, Rocks, Blazes: Letting Go on the Appalachian Trail

£13.99

Someone gave a review on this book saying it should be given the title “Misery and Agony on the Appalachian Trail”, and I totally agree.  Heather Anderson gave her account of setting an FKT (Fastest Known Time) along the AT but with that came sweat, blood (lots of blood) and tears.  I really don’t understand why someone would want to walk such an epic trail at such a speed, to the extent that you nearly cause yourself permanent damage.  You also miss so much of the trail as you walk it in the dark. But, this book is extremely well written and you feel every step along the way.  It is a very different book to the usual trail journal and I devoured it in just a few days.
