Remember to Look Up – Adventures, Eclipses and 102 Miles Around the Isle of Man

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realise they were the big things.”

That quote feels rather appropriate this week.

Life at Adventure Geek HQ has been a bit of a rollercoaster lately. There have been 4am starts, late nights, far too many hours staring at a computer screen and what feels like approximately 3,742 website buttons to test.

But amongst all the lists, testing and website madness, there have been some brilliant moments too.

And one of my favourites involved doing something incredibly simple.

Looking up.

🌒 Sometimes you need to stop and look at the sky

This week we had the eclipse.

I loved seeing photos arriving from Adventure Geekers who had stopped whatever they were doing and gone outside to watch it.

We had eclipse photos from Wales, Spain and all sorts of places in between.

Meanwhile, I was outside with my neighbour, who had decided that the ideal piece of eclipse-viewing equipment was… a Frosties cereal packet.

Obviously. 😂

It made me realise how much of my week I’d spent looking down at a laptop and working through a never-ending to-do list.

There will always be another email.

Another job.

Another website button that apparently needs testing.

But the sunsets, adventures, eclipses and all those little moments happening around us?

They’re the reason for doing all the other stuff in the first place.

So perhaps this week’s little reminder is simply this:

Every now and again, remember to look up.
