Winter Gas Canister Cover

At last week’s camp, it reached temperatures of -5. My gas stove took absolutely ages to boil enough water for a coffee so I knew I needed to invest in two things.  The first was 4 season gas (made with a butane mix) and the second was a gas cover to keep it from freezing.  This particular cover has a cute little holder for your cutlery.

I found this rather inexpensive cover on Amazon and it does the trick!  I’m back to boiling water within two minutes, rather than 10!

Note: This is not for long-distance hiking as it is quite heavy (115g) – but ideal for weekend warriors or overnighters.
