Brecon Beacons – Mountains & Waterfalls Weekend 2027
This is one of our Adventure Geek Travel adventures – a long weekend of fresh air, mountain trails, waterfalls and proper adventure in the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog).
Led by qualified Mountain Leader Richard Jones, this isn’t a weekend built around one rigid route. Instead, we’ll make the most of the mountains, weather and group, choosing the best walks for the conditions each day.
Plans include exploring the Pen y Fan area using quieter trails, discovering beautiful waterfalls and hidden valleys, and finishing the weekend with a shorter recovery walk before heading home.
Our optional base is the welcoming Star Bunkhouse in Bwlch, with shared accommodation, drying facilities and – rather conveniently after a day in the hills – a traditional pub directly across the road.
🟠 Active
Full days in the hills · Steep ascents & descents · Uneven mountain terrain · Good walking fitness required
This weekend is aimed at people who are comfortable spending full days outdoors and walking over uneven, hilly terrain. You don’t need to be the fastest person up the mountain – but you should arrive ready for some proper hill walking and a wonderfully satisfying pair of tired legs.
