Istanbul & Cappadocia Balloon Adventure 2027
This is one of our Adventure Geek Travel holidays – five days taking us from the colour, history and energy of Istanbul to the extraordinary landscapes and sunrise balloons of Cappadocia.
We’ll explore Istanbul’s famous Old Town, colourful bazaars and historic sights before spending an evening cruising the Bosphorus with Turkish food, music and entertainment as the city lights up around us.
Then we fly to magical Cappadocia, where we’ll stay in a traditional cave hotel in Göreme, explore the valleys by electric trike and experience one of the real bucket-list moments of the trip – a sunrise hot air balloon flight over the fairy chimneys and incredible volcanic landscape.
There’s also free time to explore, eat, shop or simply sit with a Turkish coffee and take it all in, plus the option to join an adventurous walk through beautiful Love Valley.

This isn’t a walking challenge, but it is an active adventure. You should be comfortable exploring on foot and being out and about for much of the day. As always, there’ll be time to slow down, enjoy the surroundings and experience Turkey rather than simply rush from one sight to another.

Active - Longer walks and/or more climbing and rougher terrain. You'll need good walking fitness and be comfortable walking for several hours.

A relaxed midweek stroll with plenty of friendly conversation, perfect for walkers of all abilities. 🟢 Gentle Shorter, generally flatter walks on straightforward paths. A good place to start if you're building your confidence or fitness.
